Supplement

  1. What is the Supplement?
Since January 1, 2005, diplomas of completion of degree programmes issued by Wrocław University of Science and Technology to all of its graduates have consisted of part A and part B. Part A is the diploma itself, while part B constitutes a supplement to the diploma. The supplement includes a list of courses and grades obtained by the student over the whole course of their studies - without failing grades.  Along with the diploma (part A), the graduate receives one original supplement in Polish (part B); in the event where the graduate submits a relevant request and a fee for a diploma in English, they will receive the supplement and the diploma itself in English. The graduate is entitled to apply for their diploma in English within a maximum of one month after their defence.
  2. Where is the electronic version of the supplement stored and what does it contain?
The supplement is stored in the student’s electronic account in the edukacja.cl system - in the AWARDING OF DEGREES tab, there are two sections - SUPPLEMENT PRINTOUT IN POLISH and SUPPLEMENT PRINTOUT IN ENGLISH. Supplement printout is generated in the PDF format, which should be checked. The supplement becomes available once you obtain the status of a degree candidate. The supplement includes information including the following: - courses, grades, points, hours - supervisor, reviewer - the subject of the thesis in Polish and English (as long as it was approved in a Faculty Council meeting) - if the supplement doesn’t contain the title, the candidate should immediately check if the Supervisor proposed it in the last meeting of the Faculty Council (if they did not do it, the formalities must be fulfilled in the next Faculty Council meeting to come - without it the thesis defence on the planned date will be impossible), - grade for the thesis , grade for the thesis examination, and the final grade to be included in the diploma (grades will be available a week after the defence, at the latest).
  3. Checking the Supplement - remarks
Every student is obliged to verify the correctness of their supplement in its Polish and English version (if an English version has been requested for) and voice any justified remarks. Remarks related to courses and grades should be submitted to the student’s Dean’s Office or the person supervising their degree programme. All other remarks, i.e. ones related to personal data, the thesis, thesis examination, names of courses in English, etc. should be submitted to Ms Paulina Zalewska. All remarks should be submitted within one day after the defence, at the latest - any unclear issues or enquiries will not be considered after this time. Submitting no remarks with respect to the supplement is tantamount to acceptance thereof as well as consent to further proceedings.
  4. What other information can be included in the supplement?
At the degree candidate’s request, additional information related only to activities involving WUST can be included in the supplement, e.g. information about placements under International Student Exchange Programmes such as Erasmus, information about an Individualised Education Plan, internship, Dean’s or Rector’s awards, activity in a scientific circle (society), language certificates, participation in conferences, or publications, i.e. achievements made during studies.
  5. When and how should additional information be submitted?
All additional information should be submitted by completing the additional information form, which should be sent by e-mail to paulina.zalewska@pwr.edu.pl; any attachments should be delivered to room 1.11 B4  (Paulina Zalewska). Only after the form is sent and all attachments are delivered will the information be included in the supplement. When these procedures have been completed, you will be asked by e-mail to check and approve the Supplement.
  6. “Approval” of the Supplement – is it compulsory?
YES - those who submitted additional information and received feedback about including it in the Supplement are obliged, having checked the contents of the Supplement, to confirm that everything conforms with the data conveyed by them by sending to the e-mail address paulina.zalewska@pwr.edu.pl a message reading “I APPROVE THE SUPPLEMENT”. Those who do not have additional information but have reported errors or conveyed remarks about the Supplement must, too, send an e-mail message reading “I APPROVE THE SUPPLEMENT” after verification thereof.
NO – all other persons who have not submitted any other additional information nor discovered any unclear issues related to personal data, courses, grades, thesis examination, thesis, the final grade, etc.
  7. Reception of the supplement
The supplement is received by the graduate only with the main diploma, i.e. part A thereof. The reception is confirmed with an entry in the Book of Diplomas.  The exact diploma reception date will be announced on the Faculty website, in its section dedicated to the news.
