Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

3rd cycle degree programmes

Those who have obtained the professional title of Master at our university or another one and intend to continue their education to obtain the doctoral degree are offered doctoral degree programmes by the Faculty.  These are four-year full-time programmes during which doctoral students not only take part in scientific research but also conduct their own research programmes, deliver classes to students, and attend domestic and foreign internship programmes.

There are numerous ways to raise finance supporting research and obtain additional remuneration.  Most doctoral students at our Faculty take advantage of such forms of support. Current information about competitions and application opportunities aiming to provide financial support to doctoral students is published on the website; doctoral students are informed of such initiatives directly by e-mail.

Those willing to pursue their professional careers by doing doctoral studies are requested to familiarise themselves with the research areas maintained by the Faculty. You can read about them for example in the Organisational structure tab, from where you can be directed to Departments’ websites. It is advisable that after you select the field of your interest you discuss your choice with the Head of Department or independent employee dealing with the subject in question, who could become your thesis supervisor in the future. They will specify the subject of your thesis and help you take further steps.

Admissions to doctoral degree programmes are organised in June and September. Respectively, relevant documents must be submitted a few weeks before, in accordance with the instructions provided in notifications. For details, please visit the website and familiarise yourself with the Admissions to doctoral degree programmes tab.

We wholeheartedly encourage you to pursue your doctoral degree programme at our Faculty thus obtaining an opportunity to develop your professional career at the University and much more favourable conditions when applying for an interesting job in industry.

In addition, please look at the contents of the Doctoral degree programmes display case, located near the Faculty Dean’s Office.
